My Philosophy and About Me

I would describe my approach to food and nutrition as being very balanced. As a rule I don't believe in restrictive diets, but that all food is good in moderation. Food is meant to be enjoyed and savored, we cannot live without it. Our food traditions are deeply rooted; it is a part of daily life as well most holidays and special occasions. Balancing healthy foods with not-so-healthy "splurge" foods can be satisfying and part of a healthy diet. The quality and combination of the foods that you put in your mouth can promote health and wellness, as well as treating chronic illnesses. My passion is to help others lead healthy lives. I have a particular interest in the prevention and  management of Diabetes.

I was born and raised in Ludlow, Vermont, the home town to Okemo Mountain. Growing up as a dancer and an athlete I realized the importance of taking care of my body. It wasn't until college that I appreciated how much food affects mood, health, and academic and physical performance. I began studying nutrition and found it to be the perfect mix of science, psychology (why we eat what we do) and applying practical knowledge. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2010 and completed my dietetic internship at the University of Long Island: C.W. Post. After a year in Long Island I missed the mountains and picturesque, quaint villages in Vermont and moved back to Vermont.

I currently work in several primary care offices in Addison County Vermont with the Blueprint Community Health Team, helping individuals meet their personal health and fitness goals. I love to be active whether its in a group fitness class, snowboarding, running, or hiking the mountains.  You can often find me in the kitchen, cooking, baking, or enjoying a glass of nice red wine... and blog whenever I get the chance.

I love feedback about my recipes and blog so please, don't be shy! ENJOY!

  1. Hi,
I am wondering if you allow guest blog posting on your site. If you do allow posts I would be interested in discussing this further because I have a client that would fit your audience. Our client would also be interested in paying you monthly to prominently feature the guest post on your site. If this is something you are interested in, please let me know your rates and we can discuss further.

    Thanks,
